Job Summary

Perform regular facility maintenance and inspection, responding to routine and on-demand service requests for building and hospital equipment. Execute preventive and predictive activities on devices while working from drawings, schematics, and verbal instructions to operate tools and machines. Record resolution data and initiate documents for formal approval within the service maintenance management database. Assist in implementing preventative maintenance programs, identifying deficiencies, and rectifying issues while ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies. Maintain assigned tools and parts inventory, participate in facility-related projects, and adapt to changing needs through on-the-job training.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of a two-year technical degree or equivalent
  • Two years' experience as an Electrical Tradesperson
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program
  • High school diploma
  • In-depth knowledge of various maintenance fundamentals
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift heavy objects weighing up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work shifts
  • Ability to work weekends
  • Ability to work holidays
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools
  • Ability to use a forklift
  • Ability to provide observation about facility conditions and deficiencies
  • Ability to provide suggestions for enhancements
  • Ability to research, learn and gain greater proficiency in applying fire, life, safety and building codes and standards
  • Strong environmental, health and safety mindset
  • Ability to perform work in a safe manner
  • Strong client-service orientation
  • High sense of urgency
  • Effective communication skills
  • Working knowledge of computer software applications
  • Experience with Building Automation System - Metasys
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Must be able and willing to work shifts
  • Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment
  • Must be physically able to perform basic maintenance tasks to the highest caliber
  • Must be able to work shifts, weekends and holidays as needed
  • May be required to possess a valid driver's license

Desired Qualifications

  • Some trades-related training
  • Certified 3rd Class Engineer
  • Fire & security systems certification(s)
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management system
  • Experience with Building Automation System - Metasys
