Job Summary
Clean school building interiors by sweeping, vacuuming, buffing, stripping, waxing, mopping, and dusting assigned areas. Remove trash from rooms and buildings, scrub toilets including mirrors and wash basins, and disinfect as needed. Dust furniture, walls, window sills, and woodwork; wash windows, walls, and venetian blinds. Polish school grounds, secure windows and classroom doors daily, check alarms, and manage lighting. Clean storage rooms, order supplies, and relocate furniture and books. Remove snow during inclement weather. Work between 2:00 pm and 12:00 am under the supervision of a Senior or Lead Operations Worker.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of the eighth grade
- Ability to use a variety of cleaning materials and equipment safely, efficiently and effectively
- Ability to follow and comprehend simple oral and written instructions
- Ability to understand and follow instructions covering cautions and use listed on containers of materials used for custodial work
- Ability to get along well with others and to work harmoniously and effectively with others
- Additional requirements subject to a complete criminal history and Child Protective Services background search with acceptable results
- Successfully pass the physical examination
- Must be able to perform the job as described in the Physical and Work Environment section of this job description
- Work hours for available positions are between 2:00 pm - 12:00 am
- Pre-employment requirements include a background check and drug screening
