Building Materials Analyst (Onsite)

Job Summary
Measure, evaluate, and analyze all sample specifications, database selections, websites, and library samples to ensure accuracy in determining like, kind, and quality selections. Operate lab equipment and tools following current procedures, then document and verify unusual specifications or non-compliant samples by placing internal notes and report comments in ITEL software. Generate validation reports containing analysis findings and product recommendations while communicating with manufacturers and distributors as required. File and store samples according to set procedures and assist in disaster recovery implementation. Requires high school diploma, two years of experience in flooring, siding, or roofing, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Onsite in Alliston, Ontario.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least two (2) years of job-related experience preferred in the flooring, siding, or roofing industries
- Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to evaluate mathematical data and arrive at a decision
- Ability to operate light industrial machinery, measuring devices (ie. microscopes, calipers, vision systems, spectrometers, etc.), and a variety of general tools
- Ability to effectively balance multiple tasks
- Effective problem solving and decision making
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
