Job Summary
BUILDING MATERIAL COUNTER SALES role in Anchorage, AK. Responsibilities include computer invoicing of sales orders for contractors and retail customers, providing quality customer service, using calculators and cash register for transactions, writing legibly and organizing notes, understanding uses of a wide variety of building materials, communicating special orders and pricing with the Purchasing Agent, providing product specifications to customers, maintaining a clean and organized showroom, and informing the supervisor of low inventory and customer complaints. Requires knowledge of building materials, valid Alaska driver’s license, ability to work overtime and Saturdays, and ability to handle pricing requests and inventory coordination with the Purchasing Agent.
Required Qualifications
- Must have own transportation and valid Alaska driver’s license
- Must be able to work overtime and Saturdays
- Knowledge of construction, products, and accessories
- Knowledge of computer invoicing
- Knowledge of calculators to provide multiple arithmetic operations
- Operates a multi-line telephone system
- Able to write legibly and organize notes
- Communicates special orders and pricing requests with Purchasing Agent
- Keeps show-room clean and organized
- Knowledge of uses of a wide variety of building materials
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to deal with customers and fellow employees
