Building Maintenance Technician (Part-time)

Job Summary
Inspect machinery, equipment, and facility systems including heating, ventilation, generators, and conduct routine inspections of the detention center and vehicles. Perform general maintenance and complete small repairs such as fixing locks, leaky faucets, minor electrical and plumbing issues, painting, and replacing light bulbs. Troubleshoot problems reported by staff, coordinate work with outside vendors and contractors, and maintain tools, records, and inspection schedules. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid driver's license, and knowledge of carpentry and hand/power tools. Work 15-20 hours per week at $20.00/hour with on-the-job training provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Drivers License from State of Residence
- Knowledge of general carpentry and repair
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools
- Some physical ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to access tight spaces
- Ability to lift 40 pounds unassisted
- Ability to remain on task and complete work orders in a timely manner with limited supervision
- Computer knowledge and skills
- Good organizational and communication skills
