Job Summary
Perform upkeep, repairs, installation, restoration, and refurbishment for plumbing, electrical, appliances, kitchen equipment, HVAC systems, woodwork, and general maintenance across common areas, residential apartments, and single-family homes. Manage personal work requests, communicate activity details with residents and staff, and record activities within the work order system. Maintain assigned supply levels, order tools and inventory, and immediately report or repair safety-related conditions. Operate hand and power tools while reading blueprints and schematics to complete daily work orders efficiently. Join a team of over 300 employees at Galloway Ridge, a continuing care retirement community. This full-time role includes an on-call rotation after regular hours to respond to emergency issues Monday through Sunday.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED
- At least one year of general maintenance, woodwork/carpentry, plumbing, and/or HVAC experience
- Working knowledge of boilers, heating and air conditioning units, refrigeration and freezers, ice machines, electrical wiring, plumbing, painting, and drywall work
- Must be able to operate hand and power tools
- Must be able to read blueprints, specifications, and schematics
- Must be willing to perform duties inside and outside of the facility
- Must be able to move heavy objects
- Must be able to effectively communicate
- Must be able to follow written or oral instructions
- Must be able to operate a tablet
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be able to work collaboratively with a diverse work group
- Must be eager and willing to provide assistance to the residents
- Must be willing to work on-call rotation after regular business hours
- Must be willing to work Monday-Sunday
