Job Summary
Perform skilled repairs to plumbing, steam lines, electrical wiring, furniture, doors, windows, appliances, and machinery. Install walls, ceilings, windows, doors, paneling, new electrical circuits, and intercom systems. Build desks, cabinets, and office furniture to specifications. Assist in operating and repairing heating and central air-conditioning systems. Estimate materials required for work. May perform outside duties including mowing lawns, maintaining athletic fields, removing snow and ice, and painting surfaces. Requires four years of full-time building maintenance experience, ability to lift up to 100 pounds, and work in outside weather conditions. Successful completion of a background investigation may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Four years of full-time, paid experience in building maintenance activities, or any equivalent combination of training and experience indicating ability to perform the duties of the job
- Good knowledge of the practices, processes, materials, and tools used in the principal trade in which incumbent specializes
- Good knowledge of one or more additional trades
- Good knowledge of modern building maintenance and repair practices
- Working knowledge of the operation and maintenance of heating and air-conditioning systems
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Good mechanical aptitude

- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds

- Regularly works in outside weather conditions
