Job Summary
On-site Building Maintenance Engineer role responsible for maintaining multiple industrial/commercial properties in the Chicago area. Duties include troubleshooting and repairing electrical, plumbing, HVAC, drywall, painting, fire sprinkler systems, building controls, doors, windows, caulking, and other property issues; reading wiring diagrams, schematics, drawings, and blueprints; HVAC troubleshooting (RTUs, MAUs, VAVs); preventative maintenance on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire sprinkler systems; coordinating with subcontractors and vendors; maintaining records of preventive maintenance and service requests; ensuring compliance with pertinent laws, EPA and OSHA regulations governing hazardous materials handling; identifying unsafe conditions and correcting them; and performing miscellaneous duties assigned by Property Manager or Supervisor. Candidate should have strong technical competence, good communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team; capable of climbing ladders and lifting up to 50 lbs; able to perform after-hours on-call duties; and willing to assist in TI processes, bid collection, and contractor management.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or related experience and/or training
- EPA 608 certification
- Tools and transportation
