Job Summary
Perform painting, flooring, carpentry, masonry, glass repair, and construction tasks including drywall installation, ceiling repairs, and tile work. Execute plumbing repairs for drainage, irrigation, and commercial kitchen systems while conducting daily facility inspections to detect malfunctions. Complete routine preventive maintenance for building and staging equipment, manage materials, and update the Computerized Managed Maintenance System daily. Assist with new construction projects, respond to routine, precautionary, and emergency alarms for building automation and life safety systems, and operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and power tools. Maintain shops in a clean, organized manner and adhere strictly to OSHA and safety codes. Work flexible schedules including weekends, nights, and holidays, with on-call status for emergencies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2-3+ years of full-time related experience at a facility/commercial building
- Skilled and semi-skilled in maintenance and repair in carpentry, painting, and plumbing
- Demonstrated skill use with all common hand tools, power tools, meters, and equipment typically utilized in facilities maintenance
- Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative
- Basic computer skills (inclusive of email and CMMS system)
- Must be adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the United States
- Knowledge of safety precautions applicable to building equipment and repair
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, inclusive of weekends, nights, and holidays as required
- Must be comfortable working from various heights
- Extensive time spent with moderate to loud noises
- Able to perform frequent bending, lifting heavy objects, sitting, exposure to multiple external elements, and extensive walking through the building
- Ability to work mandatory overtime as needed
- Ability to work before and/or after a regularly scheduled shift and/or work through breaks and lunchtime may be necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Operate equipment such as light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, scissor lifts, bobcats, and scrubbing machines
- Minimum of 2 years' experience doing commercial maintenance work
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, drawings, and other related materials
