Job Summary
Perform routine custodial and maintenance tasks on the interior and exterior of Distribution Center buildings, including minor electrical and plumbing repairs. Execute Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs within a Work Order system and oversee daily grounds keeping, cleaning, and inspection of all facility areas. Conduct weekly safety checks to ensure a hazard-free environment and maintain clean, orderly warehouse and shelving conditions. Perform semiskilled maintenance, repair, and construction tasks such as painting, carpentry, and carpet installation. Operate forklifts, light trucks, and other motorized equipment while adhering to all safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- 2-5 years of experience working in a Warehouse Distribution Center in a maintenance role
- Ability to apply commons sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form and the ability to deal with problems, new challenges and change
- Dedicated to business and willing to adjust schedule and hours as needed to manage department
- Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and procedural manuals, and maintenance instructions
- No physical limitations that limit the ability to carry and move furniture weighing up to 130 pounds
- Consistent regular scheduled attendance
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include off-shift hours and weekend assignments
- Must be able to operate a forklift, light truck and other related motorized equipment
