Job Summary
Building Maintenance and Project Crew will perform a variety of building maintenance tasks and facility projects, and assist with the complete daily cleaning of facilities (locker rooms, bathrooms, hallways, classrooms). The role splits time across park district facilities. Candidates should have general knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting, and be able to work independently and with teammates. Responsibilities include maintenance duties, custodial tasks, and supporting facility projects; preferred candidates will have strong communication, basic supervisory skills, and the ability to use BambooHR and other internal software. CPR certification is required or ability to obtain it; a valid driver’s license and background check are required. Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, 8:30 am - 5 pm. Competitive benefits package offered.
Required Qualifications
- Six months experience in a maintenance and custodial setting preferred
- Ability to perform minor building repairs including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and painting
- Must be well versed in all areas of building and custodial maintenance
- Basic supervisory skills required
- Must be able to work cooperatively with district staff and independently on projects
- Basic knowledge to use internal computer software including email, BambooHR, shared files and online trainings
- Current CPR certification or ability to gain CPR certification
- Must have a valid driver’s license and complete a criminal background check
