Job Summary
Conduct on-site field inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial facilities to verify code compliance for new and existing buildings. Utilize knowledge of California Standards Building Codes to interpret Federal, State, and municipal regulations for mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems. Approve construction, alterations, repairs, and remodels while preparing reports, correction lists, and required paperwork for various stages of completion. Manage independent schedules and input data into records systems to assist city or county building departments in ensuring community safety. Requires one or more ICC certifications and two years of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school or equivalent
- Residential or Commercial Building Inspection: 2 years
- One or more ICC certs: Residential, Commercial, Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical, Plan Checker
