Job Summary
Senior leadership role as Certified Building Official supervising building inspectors in the Corpus Christi area. Lead the residential inspection program for an active municipal contract, serve as technical SME to the sales team, enforce municipal, state, and federal codes, oversee permits, plan approvals, occupancy certificates, and inspection reports, and guide contractors, builders, architects, and owners. Requires ICC CBO credential, active TSBPE Plumbing Inspector License, and 5–7 years of progressive inspection experience with supervisory/ program management responsibility. Role is remote plus field-based, with 90-mile radius consideration.
Required Qualifications
- ICC Certified Building Official (CBO) credential required
- Active TSBPE Plumbing Inspector License required — Texas state license, legally required to perform inspections
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive building inspection experience, with supervisory or program management responsibility
- Experience supervising a team of inspectors strongly preferred
- Background working for or directly with a private or third-party inspection services firm preferred
- Additional ICC certifications a plus — Residential Building Inspector, Combination Inspector, Electrical, Mechanical, or equivalent
- Experience supporting business development or serving as a technical SME for sales efforts preferred
- Strong knowledge of permit administration, plan review, and residential new construction inspection processes
- Able to operate independently in a field-based environment with limited local oversight
