Building HVAC Technician

Job Summary
Operate, maintain, and repair assigned HVAC, refrigeration, chilled water, and boiler systems to ensure optimal client relations. Perform rounds for reactive, preventative, and repair maintenance tasks while troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues. Assist with energy conservation strategies and maintain good working relations with clients, engineering leadership, and vendors. Ensure adherence to OSHA safety standards, fire practices, and emergency protocols. Keep written records of activities, complete reports, and return work areas to a clean, orderly condition. Inform supervisors of unsafe conditions and work independently under pressure. Requires 1st shift (Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm) with some OT.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum of 3-4 years of related experience and/or trade school training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Universal CFC and EPA certifications
- Proficient in all general HVAC concepts
- Proficient in HVAC maintenance
- Knowledgeable of the equipment, tools and materials used in HVAC services and building maintenance
- Prior experience in troubleshooting with excellence
- May require shift work, overtime and/or on call duties
- Stooping, standing, climbing and frequent lifting of a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment (pump, tools, ladders) and ability to safely install rigging/lifting device
- Able to communicate verbally and in writing
- Knowledge of CMMS software processes and systems
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and other technical documentation
- Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, blueprints, and other technical documentation
Desired Qualifications
- Technical school graduate in HVAC or Mechanical Technology
- Chiller & Boiler Experience
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead others
