Job Summary
Building Engineer responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of buildings and systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire alarms, and grounds maintenance; will inspect building systems to ensure operation meets design specifications, complete maintenance and repair records, troubleshoot and repair building systems, and may direct mechanics, technicians, and outside contractors on projects; requires a high school diploma or GED with 2+ years related experience (and 5+ years building maintenance), strong knowledge of building systems, energy management, and proficiency with MS Office; on-site role with possible overtime and on-call duties; emphasizes customer service and safety.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- minimum of two years of related experience and/or trade school training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- minimum of 5 years building maintenance experience
- thorough knowledge in building systems operations, maintenance and repair
- knowledge of energy management systems
- basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel
- thorough understanding of HVAC, electrical and building automation systems
- ability to understand and give general instructions
- operate and use manual and power-driven tools
- strong organizational and analytical skills
- strong customer service orientation
- shift work, overtime and/or on call duties
- on-site availability
- physical ability to perform duties including climbing and lifting 50 lbs
