Job Summary
Conduct general maintenance, servicing, and repairs on hospital facilities and utility systems to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Perform inspections, minor construction, and equipment installations while defining and monitoring preventative maintenance parameters. Manage small projects by creating bills of materials from blueprints, coordinating activities, and providing guidance to team members. Maintain comprehensive documentation of equipment failures, work orders, and inventory control to meet departmental and authority requirements. Respond promptly to all communications and collaborate with internal and external customers. Requires one year of healthcare experience; licenses in electrical, HVAC, or plumbing are preferred but not required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience in a healthcare setting
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Nation Fire Protection Association codes and guidelines
- Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively and respectfully with team members, various levels of management, and internal and external customers
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to work inside and outside of the hospital in all weather conditions
Desired Qualifications
- License in electrical, HVAC, or plumbing
- Some college classes in technical field (electrical, HVAC, or plumbing)
- Two or more years' experience in a healthcare setting
