Building Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct regular assessments of building systems and perform minor repairs, preventative maintenance, and respond to service requests for interior and exterior building equipment. Manage work order requests related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire systems while proactively maintaining an ongoing task list for the property management team. Serve as the primary contact for vendors, overseeing their check-in/out process and escorting them to work areas. Assist with fire panel and extinguisher inspections and ensure a safe job site adhering to company, OSHA, and client-specific safety standards. Work the 1st shift in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current and valid driver's license
- Lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders, and work within tight spaces
- Drug screening
- Background check
- Physical examination
- Tuberculosis (TB) test
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred 3-5 years of experience in commercial building operations and engineering
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Ability to manage multiple projects and make independent decisions
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with smartphones (email, texts, work order systems)
