Job Summary
Operate, maintain, and repair mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire, and life safety systems to keep facility equipment performing at peak standards. Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts, while recording equipment readings and system parameters to identify potential issues. Troubleshoot and repair lighting systems and plumbing fixtures, coordinate contracted maintenance, and manage facility services, purchasing, and inventory control. Comply with departmental policies for safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials while ensuring all work meets applicable standards and cost requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems
- Ability to analyze the operation of various industrial Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC systems, determine the cause of problems or malfunctions, and take corrective action
- Working knowledge of CMMS (i.e. Corrigo)
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Physical ability to bend, sit, kneel, squat, stand, reach, and lay as required to access equipment components for extended periods of time
- Ability to work exposed to varying environmental conditions including heat, sunlight, rain, cold, and both daylight and nighttime hours
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Desired Qualifications
- EPA 608 Type II Certification or higher for refrigerant handling
- Additional EPA certifications (Universal certification preferred)
- Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Trade certifications or technical school training in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing disciplines
- Experience working in mission-critical facilities or environments requiring 24/7 operations
