Job Summary
Building Engineer responsible for performing maintenance and repairs to maximize the property's operation and proper functioning of its systems and equipment. Collaborates with property management and tenants to resolve maintenance issues, performs scheduled maintenance and building repairs, inspects and tests equipment, executes preventive maintenance, and responds to after-hours emergency calls. Maintains property appearance, assists contractors and vendors on site, keeps inventory of tools and supplies, and supports property events; must understand AC circuits, refrigeration cycle, plumbing, life safety systems, and safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- At least five years of experience in the building maintenance industry or a combination of education, training, and experience that provides the attributes necessary to perform the Building Engineer role
- Equivalent union training and certification is acceptable
- A degree from an accredited trade school in HVAC, electronics, or other industry-related trade is advantageous. Completion of trade-related technical training in the US Armed Forces is equivalent to a trade school degree.
