Job Summary
Lead coordination of building maintenance technicians and outside contractors to facilitate repairs and projects beyond in-house capacity. Operate, maintain, and service HVAC systems, Building Automation Systems, plumbing, electrical fixtures, and mechanical equipment while performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting. Diagnose and repair Direct Expansion HVAC equipment, air handling units, and variable air volume systems. Interpret as-built blueprints to recommend system modifications and oversee energy management systems to ensure optimal comfort and efficiency. Maintain all written logs, follow infection control procedures, and coordinate complex repairs with master-trades personnel.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- Five years' experience working for a mechanical or general contractor, or experience in a commercial or hospital facilities environment
- Successful completion of an approved and accredited Trade School or apprenticeship program
- Preferred Five (5) years of trades experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- Seven (7) years preferred
- Journeyman or above in plumbing, HVACR, or electrical fields
- Certification required in 4 of any building systems
- Medical Gas ASSE 6040
- Medical Gas ASSE 6010
- Pneumatic tube System certification
- ASHE Health Care Physical Environment Worker Certification
- NFPA Certified Electrical Worker certification
- Advanced knowledge of basic repairs on electrical systems and fixtures
- Advanced knowledge of wall repair, patch and paint following infection control guidelines in a commercial environment
- Advanced knowledge of basic repairs of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems in a commercial environment
- Valid driver's license
