Job Summary

Operate, maintain, and repair the Bank's heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration, fire protection, and emergency generator systems across the 1 million sq. ft. facility. Take operational readings of utilities and equipment, interpret status, and execute corrective actions while inspecting, testing, and making repairs to assigned systems. Respond to service requests for temperature adjustments, thermostat installations, and VAV box modifications, and track all work orders via the FedTRAC system. Troubleshoot issues by interpreting schematics and diagrams, and chemically treat the piping distribution system as required. Provide input on potential system improvements and assist in compiling information to support design and plan development.

Required Qualifications

  • Massachusetts HVAC/RE Journeyman's license
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certification
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working in large central plant operations
  • Thorough and demonstrable knowledge of all types of mechanical systems, including package units, split systems, chillers, boilers, pumps, VFD's and BAS Control Systems
  • Experience working within a structured PM program
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret schematic drawings
  • Capability to evaluate building systems, evaluate status indicators and take appropriate action independently without supervision
  • Ability to take BAS readings and develop strategies to operate at optimal efficiencies
  • Successful track record of working collaboratively on HVAC teams
  • Strong working knowledge of energy management best practices
  • Commitment to a continuous program of professional development in energy management strategies
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach and use hands and arms to grasp, lift and/or move equipment weighing 20-50+ pounds
  • Ability to speak and hear
  • Ability to taste and smell
  • Ability to sit, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, balance, climb stairs and ladders
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Ability to work in environments with wide temperature ranges
