Job Summary
Perform building preventative and outdoor maintenance and repairs. Conduct cleaning, graffiti removal, wall patching and painting, and limited electrical, plumbing, and HVAC tasks. Support school activities by setting up, tearing down, and cleaning up, while managing outdoor duties like snow removal, trash collection, and pressure washing. Respond to all service calls and perform emergency biohazard cleanups as needed. Audit facilities to report maintenance needs. May be temporarily reassigned at other District schools to cover vacancies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma
- Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to work flexible hours
- Must be able to move equipment, furniture, and other heavy materials daily
- Must be able to work at varying vertical heights
- Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and vehicles
- Must have good motor skills to successfully perform daily tasks that require hand tool and machinery use
- Must have the ability to perform repetitive motions
- Must be able to perform overhead work
- Must be able to perform frequent pushing and pulling
- Must be able to perform frequent bending and squatting
- Must be able to perform constant standing and walking
- Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors
- Must have medium work strength level
Desired Qualifications
- General maintenance, construction, or grounds experience
- Experience with various tools (hand and power)
- Customer service experience
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement
- Intermediate verbal and written communication skills
