Job Summary
Conduct building preventative maintenance and repairs, including cleaning, graffiti removal, wall patching, and limited electrical, plumbing, and HVAC tasks. Support school activities by setting up and tearing down event spaces, and manage outdoor maintenance such as sweeping, trash removal, and snow/ice clearing. Respond promptly to service calls for emergencies, including biohazard cleanups, and audit facilities to report maintenance needs. Perform these duties across elementary, middle, and high schools, with potential temporary reassignment to cover vacancies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma
- Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to work flexible hours
- Must be able to move equipment, furniture, and other heavy materials daily
- Must be able to work at varying vertical heights
Desired Qualifications
- General maintenance, construction, or grounds experience
- Experience with various tools (hand and power)
- Customer service experience
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement
- Intermediate verbal and written communication skills
