Job Summary
Deliver high-quality instruction in Building Construction trades, organizing daily classes using creative techniques tailored to diverse learning styles. Facilitate activities and discussions with targeted mentorship, while interpreting and administering assessments to provide constructive feedback that supports student growth. Prepare course syllabi and instructional plans, ensuring the instructional environment maintains safety, equipment security, and opportunities for student evaluation. Perform student advisement to increase retention, collaborate on recruitment tours, and demonstrate TSTC Core values with internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Verifiable work experience in Building Construction Trades
- Ability to explain and demonstrate knowledge of hand tools, power tools and stationary tools used in construction
- Proficiency of blueprint reading, specifications and construction contracts
- Construction safety and PPE rules and regulations
- Residential and commercial construction practices
- Wood floor frame, wall frame, and roof frame construction
- Concrete principles, formwork, placement, and finish
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Residential and commercial interior and exterior finish materials and applications
- Estimating and scheduling of construction projects
- Jobsite management and leadership skills
- Construction contracts and project management operations
- Verifiable and demonstrated experience
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred experience with Procore, Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word softwares
- Preferred OSHA Trainer Certification
- Preferred NCCER Core, Carpentry, Site Survey, or Project Management certifications
