Job Summary
Plans and delivers instruction in Building Construction following the vocational curriculum. Teaches and assesses student learning using instructional strategies and media aligned with the curriculum. Develops and maintains an effective classroom environment, prepares lesson plans, and demonstrates subject mastery with varied instructional techniques. Participates in faculty meetings, professional development, and district initiatives; collaborates with parents, staff, and administrators; supports co-curricular activities; utilizes instructional materials and equipment safely; and stays informed about needs and progress of learners to adjust instruction as needed. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma; college preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of work experience in carpentry, Industrial Technology Education, electricity, brick masonry, and plumbing carpentry
- Knowledge of instructional vocational strategies and curriculum development
- Ability to pass Federal background check
- Ability to develop and deliver a comprehensive vocational training curriculum
- Familiar with current technology and its educational use
- Ability to plan instruction, prepare lesson plans, and assess student learning
- Ability to participate in meetings and professional development
- Ability to maintain a positive classroom environment and communicate with parents and administrators
