Job Summary
The Building Condition Assessor I applies building condition assessment processes and technical standards while conducting site evaluations to identify asset conditions and deficiencies. Responsibilities include site visits, reporting using BGIS software, and providing recommendations for building repairs or replacements. Candidates should have a technical diploma in a relevant field and possess strong communication, computer, and analytical skills, along with the ability to work independently.
Required Qualifications
- University or college diploma in relevant technical field such as architectural, civil, mechanical electrical engineering, building science or building engineering
- 1-3 Years of relevant work experience would be an asset
- Ability to work independently and learn quickly
- Strong written communication skills
- Proficient with MS Excel and ability to learn other applications quickly
- Strong computer skills
- Detail-oriented
- Valid drivers’ license with ability to travel 50-70%
Desired Qualifications
- General knowledge of technical standards and process in completing building condition assessments
- General knowledge of the process of cost estimating for replacement and repair of building components and systems
- General knowledge of building science including architectural building envelope
- General knowledge of general building design, construction and facility operation of commercial buildings
Additional Requirements
- Enrolled as EIT,P. Eng, C.Tech or RET an asset
