Building Commissioning Engineer

Job Summary
Oversee and execute the commissioning of MEP and control systems for capital construction projects; develop commissioning plans, testing schedules, procedures, and required documentation; create system-specific Pre-Functional Checklists and Functional Performance Test protocols; assist with design review of MEP systems; coordinate field activities and work with technicians and trade partners during construction and testing; perform functional performance tests to verify system performance against design parameters; troubleshoot issues to ensure safe, efficient operation; prepare and review test reports, commissioning documentation, and final handover packages; ensure compliance with codes, standards, and safety regulations; support the project manager with commissioning deliverables and activity tracking; travel to job sites as required and collaborate with project teams to ensure timely project delivery; maintain detailed records of commissioning activities and results.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field)
- Proven experience as a Commissioning Engineer, preferably in life sciences, semiconductors, or other mission critical industries
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems
- Familiarity with commissioning procedures, testing methodologies, and industry standards
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Ability to travel to job sites as required, including travel out of state
