Job Summary
Assess and approve building development applications, predominantly for Class 1a and 10a structures, in accordance with Queensland legislation, council policies, and the National Construction Code. Address Customer Requests for technical building advice and process compliance documentation to issue final completion certificates. Provide specialist technical advice to the public, council units, and stakeholders while managing day-to-day council administration, reporting, and official correspondence. This remote, assessment-focused role requires a current QBCC Level 3 Building Certifier licence and thorough knowledge of the Building Act and QDC. Contract duration is 11 months or more with likely extensions.
Required Qualifications
- Hold a current QBCC Licence Building Certifier Level 3 licence (as a minimum)
- Thorough knowledge of the Building Act, Queensland Development Code (QDC), and NCC
- Ability to assess and determine building development and concurrence agency applications
- Experience in processing building compliance documentation and issuing final completion certificates
- Strong skills in day-to-day council administration, reporting, and official correspondence
- Ability to provide specialist technical advice to the public, council units, and stakeholders
- 11 months+ Contract
- Location: Capricorn Coast, Queensland
- 100% remotely
