Building-Based Substitute Teacher/Paraprofessional (3291)

Job Summary
Implement lesson plans and instructions as directed by the absent teacher, or consult with the principal if a lesson plan is not provided. Maintain a clean, respectful, and orderly classroom while supervising students inside and outside the classroom to ensure their safety at all times. Leave daily notes or complete reports for the regular teacher and keep records on attendance, accidents, and incidents. Communicate in a collegial and positive manner with parents, students, and administrators, and protect all student equipment and facilities. Report to Natick High School on a daily 1.0 FTE schedule starting August 24, 2026.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS degree
- Understanding of and commitment to the principles and practices of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice
- Experience with children in a structured environment
- Demonstrated aptitude for work to be performed
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Passion for working with students, families, and colleagues
- Flexibility and collaboration
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, supportive environment that nurtures student growth
- Organization and ability to meet ongoing, time-sensitive deadlines for work production
- Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects or controls
- Successful completion of Criminal Records Check (C.O.R.I.), Sexual Offender Record Check (S.O.R.I.), and fingerprints
- Vaccination against COVID-19
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual skills, especially in Spanish and Portuguese
- Experience with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Classroom, etc.) and PowerSchool
