Building Automation Systems Field Technician Specialist

Job Summary
Lead and coordinate onsite installation efforts for BAS and HVAC control systems across mission-critical project sites including low voltage cable. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, vendors, and clients to ensure proper operation, change orders, and acceptance of automation solutions. Install and wire controllers and field devices, retrofit panels, manage cutovers, and oversee jobsite logistics. Perform functional testing and commissioning activities; provide QA/QC of BAS and integrated systems; develop as-built documentation, shop drawings, and MOPs/SOPs. Travel up to 75% to field sites; provide clear communication to project teams and clients; assist with estimates and takeoffs for proposals. Requires strong coordination with subcontractors, field personnel, and clients; ability to lead daily/weekly meetings and participate in site audits and demonstrations. 5+ years BAS field experience; readiness to travel; security-cleared or veteran experience a plus.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on BAS fieldwork—installation, testing, and troubleshooting required for mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience with Distech and Tridium Niagara platforms strongly preferred
- Technical proficiency with AE drawings, relay logic, and field device wiring
- Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to oversee field personnel and subcontractors
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; AI and workflow-enhancing technologies
- Ability to travel 50-75%
- U.S. work authorization required
