Building Automation Lead Technician

Job Summary
Perform service, maintenance, and repair activities on building automation and temperature control systems, including troubleshooting controllers, sensors, actuators, VFDs, and related field devices. Analyze system operation to identify performance improvements and energy efficiency opportunities by reviewing alarms, trends, schedules, and historical data. Support system upgrades, equipment replacements, and expansion projects while verifying proper operation through functional testing and system validation. Assist with startup, commissioning, and system turnover activities, maintaining accurate service documentation and coordinating with facility staff and subcontractors. Serve as a technical resource for customers, communicating findings and corrective actions clearly to develop strong working relationships with facility managers and operators. Follow company safety requirements and customer site procedures at all times.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience working with building automation systems, HVAC controls, or DDC systems
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
- Experience servicing commercial HVAC control systems
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass pre-employment background screening and drug testing
Desired Qualifications
- Niagara N4 certification or equivalent BAS training
- Factory-certified training from a BAS manufacturer
- HVAC service experience or technical certifications
- Electrical troubleshooting experience
- Technical degree, trade school training, or related industry education
