Job Summary
Build Technician role focused on creating and assembling models and fixtures for customer specifications. Responsibilities include constructing, assembling, or modifying parts, models, molds, and fixtures using manual and power tools; selecting and working with materials such as plastics, metals, and composites; aligning and joining parts with bolts, screws, welding, or glue; shaping parts with lathes, saws, brakes, and files; drilling and finishing holes; grinding and inspecting parts to meet specifications using precision measuring tools; and testing models for conformance and function. Requires ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings; prior automotive-modeling experience preferred; and a high school diploma or technical certificate. This is based in Rochester Hills, MI.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or certificate from an accredited technical or industrial trade school
- Read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience in an automotive company making models
