Job Summary
Build Reliability Engineer (Starship) responsibilities include developing manufacturing, integration, assembly, welding, NDE, cleanliness, and checkout processes from the ground up; designing tooling for testing, fixturing, lifting & rigging; defining inspection requirements; creating training for production and inspection processes; planning and data collection to ensure quality at increasing production volumes; containing non-conforming hardware; collaborating with design to improve DFMs and requirement fulfillment; driving corrective actions and process improvements across centers; and working with cross-functional teams to ensure systemic issue resolution and fleet risk management. Preferred skills include proficiency with 3D CAD (NX, SolidWorks, CATIA), welding methodologies (MIG/TIG/laser/stud/spot), non-destructive testing (visual, penetrant, X-ray, EMAT), SQL and Power BI data visualization, and hands-on shop-floor experience with aerospace components, tooling design, and manufacturing processes. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, materials engineering, manufacturing engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, or physics
- 1+ years in manufacturing, quality, and/or design engineering role
