Build Engineer, Turbomachinery - 2026 New Graduate

Build Engineer role focusing on hands-on assembly and integration of prototype turbomachinery hardware (compressors, turbines, rotors, motors, bearings, seals, housings). Responsibilities include developing assembly instructions, alignment procedures, torque specs, rotor balancing, bearing installation, and troubleshooting; supporting tooling and process improvements; collaborating with design and test teams to prepare hardware for testing and validation; mentorship from senior build engineers and gradual increase in responsibility; emphasis on learning high-speed rotating machinery, tight tolerances, and first-article readiness in a fast-paced startup environment. Required a BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field, strong hands-on interest in assembly and turbomachinery, understanding of GD&T, fits, torque, and alignment, ability to read mechanical drawings and CAD models, and willingness to learn and work with precision hardware. Desired qualifications include internships/co-ops, familiarity with rotor balancing or bearing handling, interest in turbomachinery or power generation, and nuclear experience not required.
