Job Summary
Build Engineer on the Starship team responsible for developing and qualifying manufacturing processes, designing precision tooling to reduce assembly errors and cycle times, automating novel processes for repeatability on high-rate lines, and collaborating with design teams to influence flight design and vehicle architecture through design for manufacturing improvements. Includes developing and automating in-situ inspection techniques to increase yield, managing the transition of parts from development to high-rate production, and implementing poka-yoke systems to minimize takt and cycle times.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in aerospace engineering, manufacturing engineering, materials engineering, mechanical engineering, or other engineering discipline
- 1+ years of manufacturing and process design experience (internship and academic experience is applicable)
Additional Requirements
- ITAR requirements: US citizen or national, US lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
