Job Summary
The Career Navigator will provide individualized career coaching, help participants prepare resumes and job applications, and support job readiness and training enrollment (including pre-apprenticeship and on-the-job training). Responsibilities include facilitating professional development workshops, conducting outreach to enroll participants, building relationships with employers and partners to identify opportunities, coordinating referrals and interview processes, and supporting participants for up to 12 months of employment retention. The role also involves maintaining participant records in Empower, tracking outcomes, ensuring coordinated client support with program staff, and participating in team meetings and ongoing professional development. Strong relationship-building, collaboration across systems, and the ability to assist diverse participants in overcoming employment barriers are essential. Requires travel throughout Lake County, CA, with a flexible schedule including evenings or weekends as needed, and compliance with safety and confidentiality policies.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in a related field (e.g., Workforce Development, Social Services, Communication) or a minimum of one year’s experience in a similar role, preferably in a grant-funded program.
- Experience with community outreach, career services, or workforce development preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred, not required.
