Job Summary
Read and understand Banquet Event Orders to provide fine dining level food and beverage service consistent with OVG standards. Setup and maintain food and beverage stations while managing inventory and keeping event areas tidy. Initiate friendly contact with guests to anticipate needs, participate in setup and cleanup, and respond to customer inquiries or complaints. Work independently during slower times while maintaining a safe, clean environment and lifting heavy objects like 8-entree trays. Requires flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays; hourly rate is $14.00 with 401(k) matching.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects often
- Ability to carry at least 8 entrees per tray
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and select holidays
- Must be detail-oriented to ensure that work is accurate and complete
- Ability to multitask
- Must have a customer-focused, positive, and professional attitude
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
- Must be punctual with consistent attendance
- Must be able to respond to simple complaints or inquiries from customers, members of the business community, and/or regulatory agencies
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent GED is strongly preferred
- Equivalent experience may be substituted
- 1 year of work experience in events, banquets, or restaurants preferred
