Job Summary
Compile and analyze budget data to formulate the annual Medium-Term Budget, forecasting resource requirements for personnel, travel, and discretionary items. Conduct technical analysis of budget requests and queries, then monitor in-year implementation by providing regular reports on projected outturns and supporting year-end accruals. Coordinate monthly time-reporting submissions and review donor chargeback data for accuracy. Work with stakeholders to enhance budgetary tools and represent the department on interdepartmental committees regarding budget issues.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum qualification: Educational development, typically acquired by the completion of an advanced university degree, or equivalent, in business, finance, budgeting, accounting, statistics, computer science, or related field, or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar professional certification
- or a university degree, or equivalent, supplemented by a minimum of six (6) years of relevant professional experience
- Alternatively, a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a related position at Grade A8, or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of the Fund's budget policies and procedures, both IMF01 and IMF02
- Experience with Fund budget-related financial systems, and the ability to run queries in these systems
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, including proficiency in Power BI, and Excel and its pivot function and ability to organize large quantities of data
- Experience with the Fund's new IT systems that impact the budget, including CDMAP and Workday
- The ability to learn new technologies and remain current with technology trends is essential (familiarity with AI-enabled tools, including responsible use and validation of outputs, to support analysis, drafting, and process improvement)
- Proven competence in handling sensitive and highly confidential matters with discretion and diplomacy
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Strong oral and written communication competencies, as well as data visualization skills
Desired Qualifications
- The ability to set priorities, work under pressure, and manage several tasks concurrently within tight deadlines while seeking innovation solutions to improve budget processes and outcomes
- Demonstrated drive for results and ability to work proactively and independently, with limited supervision and as a member of a team
- The ability to collaborate with staff at all grade levels both within and beyond STA
- familiarity with AI-enabled tools, including responsible use and validation of outputs, to support analysis, drafting, and process improvement would be a plus
