Job Summary
Budget/Business Analyst supports USC ATRI Finance by developing and finalizing project budgets, reviewing and preparing administrative components of proposals, managing cost transfers, ensuring compliance with sponsored research guidelines, serving as a liaison between principal investigators and the Office of Sponsored Research, responding to sponsor inquiries, and delivering forecasting and reporting to support project status and decision making.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in related field
- Budget experience including knowledge of government and fund accounting
- Strong computer skills with automated spreadsheets
- Experience with sponsored and non-sponsored research guidelines or university budgets
- Ability to prepare budgets, justify costs, and provide reports
- Effective communication with principal investigators and offices of sponsored research
- Knowledge of contract closeout and post-award spending
- Familiarity with audit preparation and compliance requirements
