Job Summary
Senior Budget Analyst responsible for advanced budget formulation, execution, and analysis in support of FPS Region 9 financial operations. Requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in federal budget or financial analysis.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible budget, accounting, or financial analysis experience in a federal or comparable environment.
- Must pass DHS suitability screening and pre-employment background investigation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust (Moderate Risk) clearance.
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in Excel, SharePoint, and federal systems such as PRISM, FPDS-NG, or similar tools.
- Advanced understanding of federal budget formulation and execution, OMB circulars, and appropriations processes.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and reconciliation skills for financial data analysis.
- Excellent written communication for reports, justifications, and briefings.
- Ability to work independently and produce timely, detailed, and accurate analytical deliverables.
- Experience developing cost estimates, tracking budget performance, and supporting audit compliance.
Additional Requirements
- Must comply with DHS citizenship and clearance requirements.
- Completion of IT Security Awareness Training and Rules of Behavior required prior to system access.
