Job Summary
Assist in the implementation of resource planning and allocation, managing all aspects of the budgeting process and budget management. Develop and monitor the University's annual operating budget, preparing demographic information for submission to the State of New Jersey's Office of Management and Budget. Serve as the Budget Office liaison to specific university units, providing budget analyses and forecasts for the Board of Trustees. Create or approve budget journals and transfers using the University's financial system, while working with Finance & Treasury on allocations and year-end transfers. Develop budgeting and reporting software and perform long-range financial projections for debt service, personnel, and enrollment. Uphold existing university policies and serve on ad hoc committees as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
- Minimum three years of experience in a budget, finance, or related department
- Knowledge of budget and statistical analysis
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with computer systems for finance and budgeting
- Ability to communicate financial concepts to a variety of employees in the University
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and learn new systems
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in related field
- Experience working in a University or large non-profit setting
- Knowledge of Workday Financials
