Job Summary
Budget Analyst for Mayvin supporting the US Marshals Service POD budget operations. Responsibilities include gathering and formatting data for budget preparation, developing forecasts, preparing baseline budgets and revisions, studying new and existing programs for feasibility and problem resolution, preparing narrative/graphical/statistical reports with alternative solutions, compiling data on agency financial transactions, and analyzing expenditures across personnel, capital projects, supplies, equipment, and services. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, 3 years in government budget preparation/accounting, 3 years of analytical problem-solving and communication, strong analytical/planning abilities, and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Must be a US citizen and able to pass a background investigation; preferred experience with Unified Financial Management System. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field from an accredited College or University
- 3 years of knowledge of the principles and practices of Government budget preparation and accounting
- 3 years of experience analyzing problems, drawing logical conclusions, and communicating effectively with others
- Strong analytical and planning abilities
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision
