Job Summary
Entry-level Budget Analyst supporting the development and review of school and district budgets. Under supervision, analyzes fiscal transactions, assists schools with budget development, reviews setups for positions and payments for personnel outside of normal contracts, assembles fiscal information for budget preparation, and contributes to budget-target attainment. Maintains budget directives and documents, analyzes expenditure patterns, and helps prepare comprehensive reports; communicates with schools and district administrators and assists with SAP issues, budget transfers, and year-end closing.
Required Qualifications
- Four (4) year combination of education, training, and/or experience in financial and budgetary analysis
- Experience with a large, complex organization such as a public school district or state department of education preferred
- Valid Florida Driver's license may be required prior to appointment and, if required, must be maintained during employment in this class. May be required to furnish a personal auto for which mileage reimbursement will be paid.
- Promotional Requirements: Permanent employees who have served for two (2) years in the class of Budget Assistant may apply.
