Job Summary
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) at Buckeystown Veterinary Hospital responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to hospitalized patients, assisting veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and surgeries, performing laboratory diagnostics and operating diagnostic equipment (radiology, ultrasound), administering medications and vaccines, maintaining controlled drug logs, documenting treatment plans, supporting medical recordkeeping and billing, and educating clients on preventive care and treatments. Requires certification/credentialing as a veterinary technician, ability to work in a fast-paced hospital setting, proficiency in anesthesia monitoring, radiology, dentistry, laboratory techniques, and strong communication and teamwork skills.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Licensed/Certified/Registered Veterinary Technician credential
- Proficiency in anesthesia monitoring, venipuncture, laboratory procedures, radiology, and dentistry
- Basic computer literacy and practice-management software familiarity
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle animals up to 130 pounds
