Job Summary
The Boston Teacher Residency Clinical Teacher Educator (BTR CTE), STEM, will coach and develop 10-15 residents in secondary science, math, and computer science, while creating and coordinating content-methods coursework and applying evidence-based practices to drive learning. Key duties include resident check-ins, success planning, two cycles of resident evaluation, weekly coaching using the BTR coaching framework, and collaboration with CTs and residents to strengthen student learning and instructional practice. The role requires deep STEM content expertise, knowledge of pedagogical content, alignment with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, and experience designing professional learning for educators and adult learners. It also involves program leadership responsibilities such as co-designing projects, contributing to system-wide program planning, and supporting equitable grading and coherence across courses, with travel to Boston Public Schools as part of the position.
Required Qualifications

- Demonstrated proficiency as a teacher and instructional coach
- Experience supporting the growth of adult learners, including coaching, mentoring, supervising, or developing novice educators, pre-service teachers, residents, and/or veteran teachers
- Deep expertise in at least one STEM content area and the ability to support residents in applying content-specific instructional practices
- Deep understanding of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks
- Experience designing and facilitating professional learning for educators and/or adult learners
- Experience teaching coursework in higher education, teacher preparation, or other adult learning settings
- Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills
- Strong and tested ability to participate effectively on teams
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability when balancing multiple priorities, stakeholders, and competing deadlines
- Proven ability to prioritize, balance, and complete complex projects in the face of competing deadlines
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, reflection, and professional growth
