Job Summary
Conduct ABA therapy under BCBA supervision for children ages 2–8, implementing skill acquisition and behavior reduction programming using empirically supported practices. Deliver treatment fidelity scores of 80% or better while collecting real-time data and creating session notes within 24 hours of appointments. Complete required trainings, including 40 hours of BACB-approved RBT training, and pass the RBT exam within three attempts. Maintain therapeutic rapport with clients and families, adhere to mandatory reporting guidelines, and perform physical tasks involving lifting up to 50 lbs. Work Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm at the Hope Autism Clinic in Springfield, IL, while upholding HIPAA confidentiality and organizational core values.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Pass a background check and drug screen upon hire
- Gain and maintain Safety Care certification and CPR certification
- Be organized, punctual, and able to follow supervisor instructions
- Be willing and able to complete and maintain the requirements of becoming a Registered Behavior Technician
- Demonstrate an understanding of the basic principles of applied behavior analysis as well as the ability to demonstrate the basic principles
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and must be able to work alongside colleagues
- Be willing to accept and implement feedback from supervisors
- Demonstrate sound judgement, problem-solving, and flexibility
- Recognize and accommodate cultural differences and diversity
- Consistently demonstrate behavior in alignment with the organization's core values
- Uphold client confidentiality and act in accordance with HIPAA laws and regulations
- Demonstrate good attendance and use designated benefit time (sick, PTO, personal), not exceeding the provided days
- Follow all codes of conduct as required by Hope or the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB)
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Be able to lift and carry children and/or adaptive equipment
- Be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures for extended periods of time
- Examples: Kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, and standing
- Be able to sit on the floor for an extended period of time
