Job Summary
Provide proactive outreach and sustained mentoring to students throughout the BSN program, delivering academic coaching, NCLEX-focused readiness strategies, and personalized reinforcement to support persistence and progression. Create and implement customized, student-centered support approaches by assessing individual needs, learning styles, and academic challenges to deliver targeted guidance and resources. Build strong, supportive relationships with students to motivate them to successfully progress through the program while experiencing Chamberlain Care. Demonstrate current, detailed knowledge of competencies tested by the NCLEX-RN to provide effective academic and exam-readiness support. Maintain consistent communication, collaboration, and documentation of student progress toward course, program, and learning outcomes in partnership with academic leadership. Coordinate and facilitate virtual lab experiences to ensure students meet or exceed course objectives; serve as faculty in virtual lab settings as needed. Actively participate in and manage outreach to at-risk students, contributing to retention strategies and reporting outcomes and metrics to leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a clinical practice setting
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in an academic environment supporting classroom instruction or in a specialized tutoring/support role
- Maintenance of a current, unencumbered Illinois RN license
- Maintenance of a current, unencumbered compact RN license
- BLS CPR certification
- Excellent communication skills with the proven ability to communicate effectively via telephone, computer, and virtual (in‐person) platforms
- Experience using Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) for course delivery, student engagement, and academic support
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail with strong proofreading skills
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Strong team player with a willingness to collaborate, share knowledge, and exchange ideas
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in online teaching, tutoring, or coaching within a prelicensure nursing program
- Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) certification
