Job Summary
Facilitate student learning, provide effective instruction, and evaluate student performance in clinicals, labs, and simulated experiences using course outlines and standard procedures. Supervise and debrief students in assigned settings, ensure minimum competencies are met, and maintain clean, orderly classroom and lab environments. Assign grades, maintain accurate student records in compliance with FERPA, and submit reports to the Academic Department by established deadlines. Plan and supervise student clinical experiences in healthcare facilities while verifying health and safety requirements. Collaborate with instructors on examinations and assessments, participate in faculty meetings and committee activities, and assist with new faculty orientation. Provide ongoing communication through office hours and electronic channels, and adhere to academic freedom policies and program data collection protocols.
Required Qualifications
- 4 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
- current and unencumbered licensure
- Masters of Science in Nursing Degree
- Able to meet the faculty requirements set by Board of Registered Nursing in the state in which you will work
- Experience which demonstrates: Current knowledge of nursing practice
- ability to mentor students
- strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- A documented background in educational methodology consistent with teaching assignments including but not limited to education theory and practice, or current concepts relative to specific subjects he or she will be teaching, or current clinical practice experience, or distance education techniques and delivery
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and other MS office products as needed
