Job Summary
BSN Instructor will design and deliver a blended program consisting of lectures, simulation, and hands-on clinical instruction for the BSN program. Responsibilities include preparing, administering, and grading examinations; maintaining attendance and grading records; supporting program assessment and strategic initiatives; orienting new faculty to theory and clinical facilities; applying adult-learning teaching principles; incorporating online activities to enhance instruction; maintaining student records and timely reporting; staying current with safety and technology; participating in faculty meetings and committees; planning and supervising student clinical experiences; evaluating student performance against learning outcomes; ensuring clinical facilities meet health and safety requirements; coordinating office hours and student communication; advising students; and upholding nursing licensure standards. Requires an active RN license and a Master of Nursing or higher degree, with at least four years of direct patient care experience and recent clinical exposure; remote options are in-person at the Phoenix, AZ campus. Required Qualifications
- Hold a valid, active license issued by the State Board of Registered Nursing (RN)
- Master of Nursing or higher degree from an accredited college or university (including coursework in nursing or education, administration, OB, Pediatrics or Psychiatry)
- At least 4 years’ experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care
- A year of clinical experience within the last five years (clinical teaching applies toward direct patient care)
- Experience or ability to teach in a higher education setting (BSN program)
- Ability to plan and supervise student clinical experiences; evaluate student performance against clinical learning outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to use teaching principles that recognize adult learners
- Willingness to utilize online activities to enhance course content/materials
- Commitment to safety regulations and quality instructional practices
- Participation in faculty meetings and professional committee activities
- Possession of or ability to acquire appropriate credentials for nursing education
