Job Summary
Run discovery and intake to transform vague stakeholder asks into validated, scoped requirements. Write detailed specifications including PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and business rules, making assumptions explicit before code begins. Partner with pod leads to sequence work and maintain traceability from business need to acceptance, ensuring QA/UAT sign-off. Keep the backlog build-ready by grooming items and flagging conflicts early. This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, and operating-company stakeholders to resolve ambiguity on paper. You will ship substantial specs end-to-end within your first 90 days, establishing a requirements quality bar that pods trust.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years as a Business Systems Analyst, Product Analyst, or equivalent on a software product development team
- A real track record of writing requirements that engineering teams built from
- Fluency with user stories and acceptance criteria
- Comfort with Given/When/Then or equivalent structured formats
- Enough technical literacy to read a data schema
- Understanding of how APIs and integrations work conceptually
- Ability to write basic SQL to validate assumptions
- Working command of an issue tracker (Jira, Linear)
- Working command of a docs/wiki surface (Confluence, Notion)
- Ability to read Figma
- Ability to use a diagramming tool for flows
- Agile/Scrum experience
- Discipline to keep a backlog genuinely ready
- Strong written communication
Desired Qualifications
- Background in SaaS, platform, or data products
- Exposure to analytics or AI/ML-adjacent products
- Experience operating across multiple products or business units in a holding-company or portfolio structure
